[Case 2] Monitoring of landslide masses using a total station

Real-time monitoring of local conditions and web broadcasting.

At the site of a large landslide triggered by an earthquake, the subsequent behavior of the landslide mass is being monitored using a total station connected to "Observation King." "Observation King" has a track record of connecting various measurement sensors. We select measurement sensors according to the local conditions and objectives, enabling continuous monitoring and real-time web broadcasting. Case Study of Slope Behavior Monitoring by the Observation King

Introduction to the behavior monitoring of steep slope surfaces affected by the Kumamoto earthquake.

The case study titled "Monitoring Behavior of Steep Slope" is based on the Kumamoto earthquake that occurred in April 2016. To ensure a prompt emergency response to the rockfall on the national highway and to fully reopen the road, monitoring was conducted while implementing one-lane alternating traffic. The monitoring involved the installation of a "total station" on the opposite side of the collapsed slope, along with surveillance cameras positioned to provide a comprehensive view of the entire collapsed slope for real-time automatic monitoring. In steep slope areas, monitoring using a total station proved effective, allowing not only measurement data but also image verification, which enabled a cross-check to understand the behavior of the collapsed surface. [Features] ■ Response to sediment disasters caused by the Kumamoto earthquake ■ Monitoring of steep slopes using a total station *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.
